An afternoon of Curiosity at Brendoncare Knightwood
19th October 2015
Stalls included popular favourites such as bric-a-brac, cakes, tombola and teas, as well as some beautiful crafts, jewellery and stationery. The “Hoops” game was popular with young and old alike, with one resident showing some very professional Quoits skills to take two prizes!
The event had also been supported by two local primary schools, who submitted entries for an “Alice in Wonderland” themed painting competition, in accordance with Brendoncare’s Month of Extraordinary Events. 35 entries were displayed, and were judged by May Morris and June Williams of the Knightwood Art Club.
Face painting proved to be a big hit with the children throughout the whole afternoon, with the last face finished just as the raffle winners were announced.
There really was something for everyone, with the event providing a great opportunity for Knightwood Mews residents to come together with residents of the Dame Sheila Quinn Unit for a fun and friendly afternoon. A total of more than £500 was raised for the Knightwood Optimists, to provide entertainment for the residents of Brendoncare Knightwood. To read our other news stories, please click here
