Christmas Celebration Concert in Poole raising money for Brendoncare

Bournemouth resident Rod Fletcher is organising a very special Christmas concert to raise money for Brendoncare. This will be the fifth successive year that Rod, a volunteer with Brendoncare, has organised the event, and tickets are already selling fast.

The concert will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday 12th December at St. Aldhelm’s Church in Branksome, Poole. Featuring performances from vocal harmony group Salvacosta with Darren Bartlett, the Woodfalls Brass Band, and the Dynamix Minis youth choir, the concert promises to have something for all the family to enjoy. It also forms part of the St. Aldhelm’s Shining Trees Festival, and the church will be filled with Christmas trees decorated by a variety of local community groups.

Money raised from the concert will help to support Brendoncare’s clubs for older people across Dorset and Hampshire. Brendoncare’s clubs aim to tackle loneliness and isolation among older people, offering a place to meet new friends, enjoy activities and have a chat over tea and biscuits. Rod’s previous concerts have raised over £12,500 in the last four years for Brendoncare.

Rod volunteers as part of Brendoncare’s “Cooking for One” team, who visit clubs regularly to demonstrate healthy, simple and nutritious recipes and offer tips and advice on cooking in smaller, cost-effective portions.

Tickets for the “Christmas Celebration Concert” will cost just £8.50 (unreserved), and are available from Rod and Chris Fletcher, by telephoning 01202 571485.
