Hampshire based charity The Brendoncare Foundation is inviting runners of all ages and abilities to “be a Claus for a good cause”, in its first ever “Santa Fun Run”, to be held on Southampton Common on Sunday 29th November.

Every participant will receive their own Santa suit (or hats for under 5s) and a medal for completing the 3km route. After the run, there will be more opportunities for all the family to get into the festive spirit with stalls and refreshments available. Registration costs just £10 per adult, and £5 per child over 5, with under 5s going free; however, entrants will be given a suggested fundraising target of £50 each in sponsorship. There are also discounted family rates available. Places are limited, and anyone wishing to take part should contact Brendoncare’s Fundraising Officer, Tammy Angus, to book their place.

Brendoncare is a registered charity, providing a network of more than 80 social and friendship clubs across Hampshire and Dorset, which offer fun, friendship and stimulation for older people who may otherwise be lonely. It also operates ten care homes across the South of England, providing a wide range of care services for older people.

This is a wonderful opportunity to kick off the festive season in style, with lots of fun, a bit of gentle exercise, and the knowledge that all money raised will go to a great cause. Tammy Angus, Fundraising Officer, can be contacted by telephone on 01962 852133, or by email at tangus@brendoncare.org.uk for more information.
