Love Never Gets Old
3rd March 2014
Ronald Gibson House celebrated Valentine’s Day in style.
Valentines Day can be a lonely time for the older generation but Brendoncare Ronald Gibson House based in Tooting, South West London, enjoyed an afternoon of partying. Residents were joined by family and friends to mark the occasion where there was a performer singing love songs as individuals danced and sang along.
Comments from residents included: “We had fun and I really enjoyed myself”, “I was really impressed with the singer, she was really warm” and “I enjoyed dancing with others”.
Staff including carers and nurses also decided to stay and celebrate with residents in the warm, homely environment. Jaqueline Wilson, Nurse at Ronald Gibson House stated : “It was good to see everyone smiling. It was a very nice surprise and residents truly enjoyed themselves, they really could not believe it”.
Ronald Gibson House comprises a nursing home caring for 24 older people, a 16 bed wing for people with dementia and a 16 bed intermediate care unit run in partnership with Wandsworth Clinical Care Commissioning Group.
