Tickets on sale for a magical evening of music and song

The ethereal music of ‘O Magnum Mysterium’ will be the centre piece in this Christmas concert performed by the Winchester Consort. Featuring traditional and contemporary works, the concert will include haunting tunes and energetic, joyful carols. Set in the atmospheric Winchester College Chapel, this is the perfect venue for this magical evening.

The concert takes place on Sunday 13 December in aid of Hampshire-based charity Brendoncare, supporting and caring for older people across the south, tackling loneliness and isolation and caring for the frail and those with dementia.

Timothy Parsons, Organ Scholar at Winchester Cathedral and composer, will conduct the concert, which is being performed by Winchester Consort; Timothy's own setting of ‘There is no Rose’, which he will be conducting for the first time, will be included in the programme. The choir was founded in 2011 and works with a variety of musical directors and composers. The organist for the evening is Simon Dinsdale, whose career has included international tours and radio broadcasting. It promises to be a very special evening, with beautiful music in the impressive setting of Winchester College.

Tickets cost just £12.50 per person and are available from the Winchester Cathedral Box Office at http://www.tickets.winchester-cathedral.org.uk or by telephoning 01962 857275.

Alternatively you can contact Brendoncare’s Winchester office on 01962 852133 or visit the website http://www.brendoncare.org.uk/christmas
