Two new Kurling clubs in Hampshire bring Brendoncare’s total to 80!
22nd May 2015
The two new clubs will offer older people in Cosham and in Hillside & Wymering the chance to take up the popular indoor game of Kurling. Based on the Olympic sport of Curling, but played indoors on carpet, Kurling is easy to play, and offers gentle exercise with a bit of healthy competition.
The new Hillside & Wymering Kurling Club opened on Monday 11th May, and will meet every Monday afternoon from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at the Hillside & Wymering Centre on Cheltenham Road Portsmouth.
The Cosham Kurling club will meet at the Highbury Area Community Association centre, on Hawthorne Road in Cosham. This club opened its doors for the first time on Wednesday 20th May, and will meet every week from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
Brendoncare’s Locality Manager Karen Seale said : ”Kurling is great, because it can be played indoors, so it doesn’t matter what the weather is like outside. We know from experience that people live happier and more fulfilled lives if they are able to enjoy the companionship of like-minded people, stay mentally and physically active, and mix with friends, so we hope lots of people will come along and join in.”
