Short Cut Keys
We have provided a series of keyboard shortcuts intended to help users who have difficulty in using pointing devices such as a mouse.
The following information summarises each of the keyboard shortcut commands available to you.
Depending on your browser, use one of the following:
PC / Windows
- if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or later then press 'Alt' and the relevant number/letter, then press the 'Enter' key
- if you are using Netscape version 6 or later, or Mozilla, then press 'Alt' and the relevant number/letter at the same time
Macintosh
- press the 'Ctrl' key and the relevant access key
Press Alt + S to skip the navigation and go to the page content
Press Alt + 2 to go to the News page
Press Alt + 1 to go to the Home page
Press Alt + 0 to return to this page
Press Alt + L to view a large text version of the site
Press Alt + K to view the standard text size version of the site

All pages on this site are WCAG AA approved, complying wih all priority 1, and 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. This is a judgement call; many guidelines are intentionally vague and can not be tested automatically. All the guidelines have been reviewed and it is believed that all these pages are in compliance.

Visual Design
This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout. If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable
The site has been checked for readability with different kinds of colour blindness.
Text Size
The main copy of the website can be increased by switching to a large text version, either via the link at the foot of the page or by the shortcut key combination Alt + L. You can also re-size the text using the text sizing facility provided by your web browser.
Web browsers
This site has been tested in a range of different web browsers.
On PC's we recommend the following browsers: Internet
Explorer 6+, Mozilla FireFox 1+.
On Macintosh computers we recommend the use of the Safari browser.
