Nursing Home
Chiltern View provides a home where people can be helped to live as normally as possible and where the emphasis is on quality and enjoyment of life. The staff offer highly skilled nursing care when necessary and are proud to do so in an environment where residents are helped to feel they are still in charge of their own lives.
The atmosphere of the Home is one of light and colour, and it is divided into self-contained wings to give a home-like feel of small family units. Each wing consists of 15 bedrooms, a welcoming sitting room and a small kitchen area. The entrance hall, sitting rooms and dining room are all comfortable and easy to identify, and provide sociable places to be with others. For those who prefer more peace and solitude, their privacy is respected.
The Home's philosophy is that residents should be able to make decisions for themselves and choose how to spend their time. At the same time, the professional knowledge and expertise of the staff ensures that skilled nursing care is provided appropriately.
Chiltern View enjoys close links with the local community and families and friends are encouraged to be involved. Many activities and outings are organised, and residents are encouraged to continue with previous leisure interests.
Led by an enthusiastic and well-qualified Home Manager, the staff at Chiltern View work as a very close team and are committed to the Brendoncare philosophy. They make every effort to provide care which promotes privacy, dignity and normality, and to understand each resident's needs and preferences. Registered Nurses are always on duty supported by well-trained Care Assistants, and all the staff receive continuous education and development. Local GPs and a Consultant Psychiatrist support the Home and visit regularly, and a Clinical Psychologist is also closely involved. A chiropodist attends the Home on a regular basis and other services can always be arranged.
