Help us with your time and skills
If you have time to spare or an idea to share, we would love to hear from you. Within Brendoncare, there is the opportunity to be a volunteer either in one of our 10 care centres or one of the 70+ social clubs for older people in Hampshire, Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole. Volunteers are always welcomed as you help us in our commitment to provide a high quality of life for our residents and club members. It's remarkable how a small amount of time can make a real difference to someone's life. Please download our volunteer application form.
For many, old age is a lonely time and loved ones may live some distance away. By giving just a small amount of your time, you can help enrich the lives of local older people. You may have a few spare hours or you may wish to gain valuable experience by volunteering in a care environment. Whatever your reasons we want to hear from you.
There's no such thing as an average volunteer. We have:
- sixth form students
- mums wanting to fill the gap left by the children going to school
- people who can't work any more due to an accident or illness
- people who've taken early retirement
- people who've taken statutory retirement but who wanted to remain 'busy'
- people who have been retired for a long time but don't want to sit around waiting!
Our volunteers range in age from 16 to 90+ and provide a range of services in our homes and clubs. Their commitment varies from one hour a week to many hours a week spread over several days. However much time is given it is fully appreciated by Brendoncare.
As a volunteer you can:
- Support the work of Brendoncare
- Meet new people
- Learn new skills and revisit old interests
- Do something worthwhile and inspiring
As a Brendoncare volunteer you will receive a full induction in your role and will also be given the opportunity to join a variety of training sessions. While volunteering with Brendoncare we hope that you will have fun, make friends and perhaps learn new skills. Most of all, we hope that you will be proud of the fact that you are making a difference to the lives of the older people living near you.
Without volunteers we would not be able to achieve all that we do. Please help us make a difference.
