Adam’s Story

I had an extremely busy time during Volunteers’ Week, firstly attending a seminar at the National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) offices. This was a chance to learn about the trends in volunteering and how these can effect volunteer recruitment. It was a very worthwhile seminar where I got plenty of ideas and a chance to network with other charities.

Adam’s Story

Over the whole weekend, myself and Sandra (club support and one of our volunteers) attended a Volunteers Fair at Romsey Abbey. The event was well organised and we managed to speak to plenty of people, getting the Brendoncare message out there. During this event, I also managed to meet with the volunteers from Test Valley community service team and was invited to their conference on the last day of Volunteers’ Week. This was fortuitous as we need volunteers in that area. At the conference, I also met with David Harber, founder of Andover Radio, who is keen for Brendoncare Clubs to go on the airwaves to promote our social and friendship clubs. The event helped put Brendoncare’s name to the forefront of staff who work at volunteer centres, who will hopefully remember us when potential volunteers come through their doors.
