Bank Maintenance Assistant
We are looking for Maintenance Assistants to join our team of bank staff to provide ad-hoc cover for staff holidays and sickness. Our bank opportunities provide flexibility and often lead to permanent contracted hours.
You will assist the Maintenance Manager in providing services to the care home, ensuring that the building, rooms and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
This maintenance role requires someone with a basic working knowledge of electrical work, plumbing and an understanding of Health and Safety legislation, along with at least one trade skill. We are particularly interested in candidates who are personable, organised and have a basic knowledge of IT. Good record keeping skills and attention to detail are paramount, in addition to a friendly nature and a natural affinity for working with older people.
Duties will include:
- General maintenance, repair and general upkeep of the care home, grounds and equipment
- Liaison with contractors and suppliers
- Maintaining stocks and supplies - both neatly and safely
- Basic plumbing and electrical work
- Painting and decorating
- Adherence to working in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and Brendoncare’s policies and procedures
Rates of pay are competitive and vary by home. We provide the same level of training and continual personal development as we do for our permanent staff, as well as a free uniform, free initial DBS check and free staff meals when on duty.
