New Kurling Club for Older People in Marchwood

Residents of Marchwood are invited to join a new kurling club starting today at Marchwood Village Hall. The club will meet every Monday from 2pm to 3.30pm, and is open to both men and women. The first session is free of charge, with future sessions costing just £2.50 per week.

Club locality manager Catherine Fellingham says: “We are delighted to be opening this new Kurling group in Marchwood. Kurling is great, because it can be played indoors, so it doesn’t matter what the weather is like outside. It’s mildly competitive, fun and involves moderate exercise. We know from experience that people live happier and more fulfilled lives if they are able to enjoy the companionship of like-minded people, stay mentally and physically active, and mix with friends, so we hope lots of people from Marchwood will come along and join in.”

Brendoncare’s clubs are devoted to giving older people the opportunity to meet new friends and have some fun, with over 70 clubs across Hampshire and Dorset. The clubs rely on the generosity of volunteers who donate their time to help reduce social isolation and loneliness among older people.
