Outstanding’ home welcomes new manager

Brendoncare Froxfield near Marlborough is delighted to welcome a new manager to the ‘Outstanding’ care home. Karen James has recently joined the team at Brendoncare Froxfield, which the Care Quality Commission rated as ‘Outstanding’ in its last inspection.

Karen brings a wealth of experience with her. She is a registered nurse with over 34 years’ experience of both the NHS and the social care sector. Karen has worked in a variety of fields and specialities, including all aspects of nursing home management, elderly care, dementia, end-of-life care, neuro-rehabilitation and general medicine. She has held her Registered Managers Award since 2010.

Karen describes herself as hard working, focussed and dedicated to ensuring our older generation is treated with dignity and respect. She commented “I passionately believe that everyone has a life worth living, whatever their own particular challenges, illness or disability may be. I am very excited to join Brendoncare Froxfield and to be leading an established and dedicated team, who put the residents at the heart of everything they do.”

Brendoncare Froxfield is part of registered charity The Brendoncare Foundation and the care home has been supporting older people for over 30 years. It provides nursing and dementia care for up to 44 people, offering a homely feel for residents and a warm welcome to all visitors. Located in the village of Froxfield, it has all the convenience of a purpose-built home while the attractive gardens, surrounding Wiltshire countryside and neighbouring 17th century alms houses lend it charm.
