Brendoncare was delighted to bring back one of the most popular club activities, the Dorset Kurling Club competition.

It was the first time Brendoncare Clubs has held the contest since Covid. For this contest, there was no stopping the eight teams representing the clubs who were competing for the kurling crown.

Held at West Moors, the scoring was very close and there were some great games played in a fun and friendly spirit.

In the end, it was the quartet from Wimborne Kurling Club who came out victorious and were thrilled to lift the trophy.

For their terrific achievement, the Wimborne kurlers are Brendoncare’s Club of the Month.

The eight kurling clubs in Dorset are Bearwood, Blandford, Ferndown, two at Moordown, West Moors, Westbourne and Wimborne.

Kurling is a very social, inclusive sport which can be enjoyed by people of all abilities. The principle is the same as curling played on ice, but uses pushers to move “stones” on wheels onto a target.

The Brendoncare kurling community continues to grow as we run more kurling clubs than any other activity.
