"My stay at Brendoncare was delightful. I spent two weeks convalescing after a hip replacement. The staff were always ready to listen and to help in any way they could. Nothing was too much trouble. There was always a good selection of meals on the daily menus which were freshly cooked on the premises. I have recently visited the care home as I am staying with them later this year after hand surgery. It now has facilities for clients to use at any time, a kitchen and lounge area. This very much appealed to me as my sleeping is very poor so I will now be able to read a book or use my iPad during the wee small hours. I highly recommend the Brendoncare home."

“On behalf of all Mum’s family, I would like you to convey our heartfelt thanks to every member of staff for their unfailing kindness to Mum whilst she was there. Their efforts made the whole experience as smooth as it possibly could be. We genuinely could not fault a thing.
“Everything, from the lovely meals and the super fast laundry service to the clean and cosy accommodation, made Knightwood Court feel as close to a home from home as could be. Most important of all, Mum was treated with kindness, humour and respect by all staff at all times. From maintenance, housekeeping and reception staff to management and care staff, Mum was offered nothing but unfailing friendliness and patience. The ability of the care staff to offer unflagging cheerfulness as well as make unhurried time to chat and socialise was just as important to Mum, and us, as the more practical help they give.”

“I don’t know where to begin to thank you all so much for all the wonderful care you have given me during my two week stay with you after my back operation. You are a special group of people and are so good at what you do and always with lovely smiles too. I am certainly going to miss you all when I get back home.”

“I found it a very nice place to live and received plenty of help from people. The gardens were very nice to sit in or walk around. It’s a place I would consider staying permanently in the future.”

“We all know how difficult it is to find a comfortable care home for an elderly relative. But there is one tucked away in the woodlands near Chandlers Ford which is run by the charity Brendoncare. At the beginning of this year Brendoncare Knightwood opened as a residential home. I have been able to move into the area to be near my daughter, and am so comfortable here.”

Do you care for someone who needs support while you go on holiday or have a bit of time to focus on your needs? Perhaps you need some short-term care or some support while you recover from a hospital stay or operation? We can help.
Our approach to respite care is simple; a care and support plan devised around your needs and a warm welcome to our home, however long you are staying with us. Plus, there are options to extend your visit, if you feel you would like to stay with us longer, so you can take as long as you need to recuperate.
At all of our homes there is a full range of activities on offer for everyone to enjoy or quieter spaces for more tranquil moments. Food is an important part of every day and our chefs spend time with residents, finding out their likes and dislikes. While every Brendoncare home is different, the care provided by each is firmly based on the values of kindness, care, choice and community.
“My mum enjoyed her respite stay with you and we were delighted to find her stronger and brighter. Your philosophy of care has worked well for her.” Daughter of resident, May 2017
