Get Online with Brendoncare in October!
A big thank you to everyone who joined us during the Zoom Week in September. During the week, we ran seven different workshops and supported 37 members with their digital and Zoom needs.
Brendoncare is celebrating the week of 16th – 22nd October which is Get Online Week in the UK. At Brendoncare, we are proud to be part of this huge campaign. During the week, we will be supporting our members who want to start using emails or other online services to help them during their daily lives.
Our Training and Support Officer, Yildizhan Negargar will be visiting five of our community clubs during Get Online Week. She will meet members, answer their IT-related questions and explains the work of our Digital Connections initiative.
The clubs Yildizhan is visiting are:
- West End Social Club on 16th October, 2pm – 4pm
- Romsey Lunch Club on 17th October, 11.30am – 1pm
- Otterbourne Seated Exercise Club on 18th October, 10.30am – 12 noon
- Westbourne Pub Club on 19th October, 10.30am – 12 noon

In addition to these clubs, Yildizhan will visit Fleet and Crookham Welcome Club on 25th October.
Scam awareness
At Brendoncare, we would like our members to be safe at all times. To support them and help our members feel more confident, Winchester Citizens Advice’s Partnership and Outreach Adviser, Sacha Welch will be joining us on Monday, 9th October at 2pm. If you would like to attend this talk on Scam Awareness, please use this link.
Planning for the future
On 31st October at 10:30am, we are delighted Kellie-Jayne Cox of KJ Cox Solicitors will join us to talk about planning for the future, and whether you need a Lasting Power of Attorney. An LPA allows someone to make decisions for you, or act on your behalf, if you’re no longer able to or if you no longer want to make your own decisions. Kellie-Jayne, who has been a solicitor with over 20 years of experience, will answer your questions on the subject. You can book your place for this essential talk here.
Digital drop-in sessions
Our monthly digital drop-in sessions take place on the first Tuesday of each month at 4.30pm. The first one is next Tuesday, 3rd October. If you have an IT related question or having trouble with your laptop or tablet, please come along where Yildizhan will answer your questions. You can book your place for this session here.
Please don’t forget to check our blog next month again for updates about the activities we have planned for you in November! We will be looking at safer online shopping just in time for Christmas and also have workshops on how to use Ticket Tailor to book your places for the events in which you are interested.
