Keeping your tech safe with Brendoncare
As we start 2024, Brendoncare’s Digital Connection Team’s New Year’s resolution is to continue supporting members with our usual enthusiasm while, at the same time, helping you improve your digital skills.
Our monthly digital drop-in sessions will resume in 2024 at 16:30 on the first Tuesday of every month. The next one is on 2nd January. If you have an IT related question or are having trouble with your tablet or phone, please join us. Our Training and Support Officer, Yildizhan, will answer your questions. You can book your place for this session here or simply call our office on 01962 857099.
On 9th January (14:30), we are holding our first online workshop, Your Phone is Your Castle – How to Avoid Unwanted Visitors. We will discuss how to choose stronger and safer passwords. We will also show you how to protect our devices such as laptops, tablets and phones from being used by unwanted parties. If you would like to attend this event, please click here to book your place.
Another workshop in January is Confidence with WhatsApp. Yildizhan will demonstrate how to get the most out of this useful app and share some handy tips. If you would like to attend this event on 24thJanuary (14:00), please book your place here.
Please note that we will also be joined by a guest speaker, Kellie-Jayne Cox of KJ Cox Solicitors, on 23rd January (10:30). She will talk about planning for the future, and whether you need a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) to make the decision making process easier for you and for your family. An LPA allows someone to make decisions for you, or act on your behalf, if you are no longer able to or if you no longer want to do so.
Kellie-Jayne is a solicitor with over 20 years’ experience, who will answer all your questions on this topic.
