Brendoncare Club Hampshire in Gosport is opening its doors to the community, to invite local people to come and see what they do. Run by Brendoncare Clubs and their fantastic team of volunteers, the Club Hampshire Centre on Willis Road currently welcomes 322 members to their 17 clubs. These cater for a range of interests, from exercise and social clubs to tai chi and film viewings.
The open day, on Thursday 7th March, will offer visitors a taster of what’s normally on offer and will provide existing members and volunteers access to a range of additional information. Tables from local organisations will include Gosport Voluntary Action, Alzheimer’s Society, Brendoncare Bereavement Support and The Princess Royal Trust for Carers. Three 20 minute talks organised by Age Concern Hampshire on physical, financial and emotional wellbeing are also timetabled throughout the day. Brendoncare Voices (Gosport) – a singing group based at the centre – and a local two-piece ukulele band will also be performing, with the Mayor of Gosport in attendance.
Sam Agnew, Head of Clubs at Brendoncare, says, “Not only do we want to support our members and volunteers with helpful advice and information from our partnership organisations, we are also looking forward to welcoming the wider community in to get a flavour of what we do at the centre.”
