Winchester-based charity, The Brendoncare Foundation, is pleased to announce that Carol Mayers, General Manager, at Brendoncare Knightwood has been shortlisted for the Leadership category within the Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards 2018.
The Markel 3rd Sector care awards, recognise the innovation and excellence happening throughout the not-for-profit care and support sector. The Leadership award celebrates a person who has demonstrated outstanding leadership that has significantly contributed to care and service excellence with a culture that puts people and quality first.
Carol Mayers is the General Manager at Brendoncare Knightwood and is the Domiciliary Care Lead Brendoncare Homes. Carol has been responsible for significant changes at Brendoncare Knightwood and through her determination, focus, and inspirational leadership, she has achieved a CQC rating of ‘Good’. She has established strong community links and has fostered a positive culture that puts people and quality fist.
Brendoncare Knightwood has two services – a 20 bed residential home and a extra care service consisting of 30 two bed apartments and seven bungalows.

Carol’s career to date has included time as a police officer, as well as working with homeless people and running a women’s hostel. She has developed extensive experience within the care sector.
