The Dance-A-Thon event held at Lawrence Square, Gosport Town, will run for ten hours, from 8am and 6pm. Brendoncare Voices (Gosport) will be performing at 10am and there will be 22 members taking part. They will perform a wide range of songs including tunes from Abba, Take That and Westlife. They are instructed by Tamsin who had been leading the group for many years.
Elaine Chapman, Brendoncare Club Volunteer, said, “We are delighted to be performing at the Mayor’s Dance-A-Thon. Our members have been rehearsing especially hard to ensure an excellent performance. The event is in aid of The Mayor’s Charity Appeal and we feel honoured to be part of this special day.”
The Brendoncare Voices (Gosport) meet every Monday from 6pm-7.15pm, at Club Hampshire, The Anchorage, Willis Road, Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 1LZ. Everyone is welcome to join the club, whether they have sung with a group before or not. There is no audition to go through.
Brendoncare Clubs exists as a charity to champion positive, healthy ageing. Brendoncare believes in a society where every older person feels valued and included in their community and where no one feels alone. The clubs provide a friendly, fun, relaxed and supportive environment where older people can meet other club members, make friends and develop strong peer support networks. These networks are crucial when problems more prevalent to older age occur, such as the poor health or the loss of a partner or close friend.
