Eastleigh Rotary Club has raised a total of £7,896 to purchase the OM Interactive Table, which is a great piece of specialist equipment for those living with dementia. This table will enable people in Otterbourne Hill to have hours of fun and joy with their loved ones and/or their carers. This incredible amount was raised collectively with help from other Rotary groups who pulled together to help us with the project. There was also help from local councils and a lovely Vintage Afternoon Tea event!
The Rotary Club became involved with Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill as soon as the development was completed, offering to help raise money for equipment which would break down barriers of communication for people living with dementia. The group have spent a great deal of time at the home, where they help out with events, gardening and much more. They have become part of the Brendoncare family, and we are extremely grateful for their continued support.
Having seen an example of the OM Interactive Table in action during a demonstration at the home, members of the Rotary Club could see how this would aid interaction, communication and mental stimulation for Otterbourne Hill’s residents.
Yasmin Achilles from Brendoncare’s Fundraising Team said: “We are so grateful for the support from Easleigh Rotary. They have been an absolute pleasure to work alongside as they put lots of hard work in to fundraising for the total cost of the table which is an incredible amount! Thank you so much to everyone at Eastleigh Rotary for your generous support.”
