The Brendoncare Foundation in Winchester is involved in this year’s Winchester Hat Fair on Saturday 30th June 2018.
Some of Brendoncare’s Park Road residents were interviewed as part of The Hat Fair’s Living Portraits intergenerational project, which celebrates the lives of some of Winchester’s older residents. The digital display will be shown in St John’s Chapel, adjacent to St John’s Almshouses.
As part of the Fair, there will be a village fete in the gardens of St John’s Almshouses, where older residents will be able to enjoy a calm space and listen to music from the woodland choir, Yoni. There will also be a participative ‘growing garden’ from The Winchester School of Art and free refreshments. Brendoncare will be in attendance at the fete from 12pm until 5pm.
Hilary Mitchell, Home Manager, at Brendoncare Park Road, said: “Our residents have really enjoyed sharing stories from their lives and are looking forward to visiting the multi-media display in St John’s Chapel.”
