Can you conqueror the burning coals for charity?

This November, Hampshire-based charity The Brendoncare Foundation is turning up the heat and asking you to test your bravery on its firewalk.

Brendoncare runs 10 care homes across the south of England, with five located in Hampshire, including Brendoncare Alton, which provides nursing and dementia care for up to 80 people. The charity’s ‘Care for Life’ promise helps to keep people in their Brendoncare home if their financial situation changes, avoiding a distressing move in later life. The charity also runs over 90 social clubs for older people, providing fun and friendship and helping to reduce loneliness and isolation.
The firewalk is taking place on Saturday 25 November at Brendoncare Alton in Adams Way and offers an amazing opportunity for those brave enough to step up to the challenge.
Phoebe Day is Brendoncare’s Fundraising Manager and explained “For anyone interested in a new challenge, but without the time to train for an event, the firewalk is an amazing chance to try something different and raise money for a great cause. Our homes and clubs make a tangible to difference to the lives of older people every day.”
Firewalk instructor, Cliff Mann, commented further “A firewalk is the most inspirational journey you will ever undertake. It is as the name suggests: a bare foot walk over red-hot wood embers measuring around 800 degrees. No tricks, no special effects. Just you and the fire.”
