Brendoncare is hosting free information and advice workshops focusing on ‘positive ageing’, running from August through to October.
The charity, part of The Brendoncare Foundation which is based in Winchester, currently provides older people with opportunities for social interaction through its friendship and activity clubs in Hampshire and Dorset.
The workshops, which will take place at Club Hampshire Centre on Willis Road in Gosport, are being run by Age Concern Hampshire for Brendoncare Clubs and cover a range of interesting topics:
Staying Financially Fit – Wednesday 15th August (1.30pm to 3.30pm)
Physical Wellbeing – Monday 24th September (4pm to 5.30pm)
Mental Wellbeing – Wednesday 10th October (11.15am to 1pm)
Sam Agnew, Head of Clubs at Brendoncare, says, “We want to support our members and volunteers, not just when they’re at the clubs, but also at times when they need a little more help; this is where our partnership organisations come in. Age Concern Hampshire offers a fantastic accredited advice service for older people and we are really looking forward to attending their free workshops on Positive Ageing”
“It is always rewarding to see how good planning and accessing relatively small benefits can often transform people’s circumstances,” Peter Johnson, Information and Advice Manager, Age Concern Hampshire.
The workshops are open to anyone from the Gosport area but booking is essential. For more information or to book your space, please call 01962 857099.
