Lynne Hewitt, General Manager, at Brendoncare Alton, celebrated her 60th birthday in style, with a bit of help from the Brendoncare care home team.
Lynne’s office was filled with hundreds of colourful balloons. Many helpers joined in the birthday surprise; some pumped up the balloons and others kept Lynne occupied so they could fill her room with the balloons. She was also presented with many gifts and cards from the staff and residents. They all enjoyed a slice of her birthday cake and joined in a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’.
Lynne Hewitt joined Brendoncare Alton as Peripatetic Manager in 2017 and quickly became General Manager. She is originally from Scotland and moved to England in 1997. She also started working as a carer in 1997. Her career has included working with adults with physical and learning disabilities, managing a residential home, before joining Brendoncare. A rather surprised Lynne Hewitt, General Manager, said,
“It was a big shock but a lovely surprise to find my office filled with balloons, I couldn’t get to my desk. I didn’t realise my team knew it was my birthday as I always like to keep my birthdays quiet, particularly on reaching 60!”
Janet Graham, Customer Relations Manager, said,
“Lynne has been working particularly hard recently and we thought she deserved a treat. She is a great leader and an inspiration to us all. We wish her a very happy 60th birthday and hope she enjoys celebrating with her family and friends.”
