Brendoncare is delighted to announce that The Big Give campaign has been an incredible success.
Thanks to your unwavering support, including Gift Aid we have raised a staggering £20,359 in one week. This vital amount will go towards our Keeping Connected at Christmas appeal, which aims to help fund the continuation of our Community Support Service throughout the winter.
Since March, when all 94 of our clubs were forced to close, Brendoncare has been running a free Community Support Service, making over 11,000 contacts to club members and volunteers needing our support through the crisis.
We aim to combat the loneliness that older people in our communities are facing this winter, continuing this telephone and digital support, running virtual clubs and Christmas parties and delivering food to the most vulnerable.
Brendoncare’s community work offers a vital life-line of friendship and support throughout the year, and this year – more than ever – we want to be there for everyone that needs us.
Our first-ever Virtual Concert premiered on Facebook and YouTube on December 1st.
Sponsored by Paris Smith, and hosted by TV favourite Alastair Stewart, it ran in place of our popular Christmas Carol Concert at Winchester College. The wonderful cast of 2020 included Brendoncare residents, staff and volunteers who performed Christmas classics and shared stories from what has been an unprecedented year for all of us.
If you missed the concert the first time around, you can watch it here for a limited time only:
