If you have time to spare, or skills and interests to share, we would love to hear from you.
You can volunteer in one of our care homes across the south of England, or with one of our growing network of online and community clubs for people across Dorset and Hampshire. Volunteers are essential to achieving our aim to empower people to live their whole life well, and fulfilling our commitment to provide a high quality of life for our residents and club members.
A small amount of time can make a real difference to someone’s life. And for you, volunteering can be a lot of fun and a great way to keep physically, mentally and socially active, and meet new people. You can volunteer in one of our services, or even from the comfort of your own home.
People volunteer for many reasons, some for education, some for personal reasons; whatever your motivation, we need your help to continue the work we do empowering people to live their whole lives well.
Volunteering helps you to increase confidence, try new things and gain a real sense of achievement.
Volunteering for Brendoncare means you make a real difference to someone’s life every day.
We believe that without diversity we will be unable to fulfil our vision.
We would like to hear from people who share a strong belief in our vision and values.
We have a range of volunteer roles to suit people, regardless of age, background, or whether you can get out and about or want to stay at home; we’d like to hear from you.

Brendoncare offer a range of services from community support and clubs, through to extra care housing and residential care, helping thousands of people across the south of the UK. As a charity we rely on volunteers to help us reduce loneliness and isolation, and empower people to live their whole life well.
As a volunteer, you will support the work of Brendoncare, meet new people, learn new skills and revisit old interests, and do something worthwhile and inspiring. Most of all, you will have fun, and we hope you will be proud of the fact that you are making a difference to the lives of people in your communities.
At Brendoncare we offer a comprehensive training programme to volunteers to ensure they understand the requirements of their volunteer role and are properly equipped to support their members.
We provide you with an induction, ongoing training and support, and reimbursement of out of pocket/travel expenses. Your DBS check will be provided at no financial cost to you.
Volunteers in our homes and community services gain experience, skills, confidence and friendships. Some people volunteer because they are fulfilling a class requirement, others to give back to the community. Whatever your reasons, there’s a role for you.
We ask for two satisfactory references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Training is important to make sure we keep you and everyone we work with safe. If you are working remotely you may need to be able to access training on zoom. Some roles may require a driving license or specific qualifications, please enquire for more details.
The short answer is yes! Our online clubs and telephone support roles can be fulfilled from home, and only require you to have a working internet connection and phone line. We have volunteers from all over working comfortably out of their own homes to help support people across the UK.
