Located in a tranquil part of Winchester, Brendoncare Meadway provides high quality residential care tailored to meet each resident’s needs, helping them to continue living independent, happy and fulfilling lives.
I realised I had made the right decision joining Brendoncare when one of the Meadway residents was one of my interview panel!
Long before this, I knew my heart was in care when I was 14 and had my first job as a nursing home kitchen assistant.
I studied health and social care at college after which I tried several different avenues into the care world including hospitals. However, I fell in love with residential care, gained several qualifications and worked as interim manager in a Romsey care home before coming to Meadway.
Now, I am learning the incredible stories of our residents who helped to bring me here.

There are 13 single bedrooms, all with a private bathroom for each resident.
Our spacious fully furnished bedrooms have a TV point, private telephone line and a 24-hour call system with wheelchair accessible showers and assisted bathrooms close by.
Residents are welcome to personalise their rooms with their own furniture and belongings, bringing familiarity and comfort to their home.
Brendoncare Meadway provides residential, respite and end of life care.
Our residential care takes away the stresses and strains of running your own home. Support is always on hand to provide help with everyday tasks. Residents are free to enjoy their day either participating in activities or spending time quietly in their rooms, the gardens and communal rooms.
Respite care gives short-term support to those recovering from an illness, hospital stay, or when their carers take a break.
End of life (palliative) care supports those in the last months or years of their lives enabling them to continue living with dignity.
With a family-like atmosphere, our care home is a welcoming place for both residents and visitors. It has light, spacious communal rooms including a dining room overlooking the garden.
Our well-stocked mature garden is full of fragrant flowers and herbs. There are patios with elegant garden furniture where residents and their guests can soak up the sun or seek shade in our summerhouse while enjoying the glories of the garden.
Food and drink are an important part of the day. Our catering team works closely with residents and staff to accommodate specific likes and dislikes, dietary and allergy requirements or cultural/spiritual needs. A resident recently quoted in a recent CQC report: “Of vital importance, the food is homely and is really excellent.”
Our varied menus always include healthy, wholesome, appetising food, with snacks and drinks available anytime. We are proud to maintain a 5 star food hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency.
Supporting quality of life for each of our residents is key to ensuring their wellbeing. Regular activities we organise include quiz nights, creative talks and movie afternoons, visiting entertainers and weekly volunteer visits from Winchester College pupils who play games, read and hold discussions with residents.
We also arrange celebrations on special occasions including birthdays, Mothers’ Day, Easter and Christmas.
A small Winchester residential care home, with a true home from home feel, located in the outskirts of the popular Hampshire city. Visit or call us to discover more about our small home with a big heart.
